Canutillo ISD, community members, and students gathered at Bill Childress Elementary to celebrate the start of renovations funded by the 2024 Canutillo Bond. This marks the second groundbreaking of six renovation projects scheduled to begin this year, as part of the $387 million CISD bond.
The $7.3 million project will focus on new HVAC units, roof maintenance, a secure entry vestibule, upgraded security cameras, a new PA system, wireless infrastructure upgrades, and the replacement of carpet with durable vinyl tile flooring, ensuring the campus is better equipped to support student learning and safety for years to come.
The project was designed by Mijares-Mora Architects and is being built by Jordan Foster Construction. Work is expected to be completed by August 2026.
Additional groundbreaking events will continue throughout the fall as CISD and Procedeo deliver on the community’s vision to transform learning environments across the district.
PROCEDEO is the Owner’s Representative for the 2024 Canutillo bond program that was approved by Canutillo voters on May 4, 2024.
